Hope you have a fab time and don't get too wet!

And don't tell me to have a good trip, because I won't be able to read what you've written until I get back

Right, he's gone - let's party

It's a totally fabulous part of the world.

I rented a little place in Alnmouth for a week last summer and walked pretty much all of the coast: Lynemouth, Druridge Bay, Amble, Warkworth, Boulmer, Craster, Dunstanburgh, Embleton Bay, High Newton...

And visited Alnwick, the Farne Islands, Lindisfarne and Bamburgh.

It never rained once. The showers always seemed to be somewhere that I wasn't!

The beaches are awesome.

Anyone want one of these old Creme Eggs I found behind the couch?

I'm bored too.

Puffins - much smaller than I expected

Found your blog by accident about a year ago when I moved to London from Northumberland and have been an avid reader since. Will be interested to read your thoughts on my home county - keep up the good work

A year since the Scotland trip?! That only seemed like a few months ago! Surely I've not unwittingly become a regular reader (albeit uncommenting) wanders off to check through archives Egads....2.5 years...every day almost without fail. Wanders off to find a life

You've managed to go on holiday. When I do that (last attempt was a weekend in Southwold) all hell breaks out in comments. And it's always local councillors arguing. Not that they stop when I'm here these days.

Anyway, I hope you *have had* a good time I went to the toppermost county of England as a kid and still remember how gorgeous it was.

Don't forget to come to Scotland during the Festival in August. It promises to be really great this year...again.
