I went to the Out of this World exhibition at the Library and enjoyed it. For some reason, no photography is allowed. The security guards made that clear. So don't count on getting a snap of the Tardis or the giant tripod.

Some practical reasons: exhibition dimly lit to conserve colours and in some cases the paper, thousands of doses of bright light from camera flashguns can cumulatively damage the materials.

Also copyright on some of the artwork will not have expired, the BL can't be seen to allow that to be flouted.

There's also the Clapton Festival. A festival! In Clapton!

Oh, and I'll be at work. Bah.

Oh. Took loads of pics after getting permission on Day 1 at BL. No flash allowed understandably. Particularly enjoyed drawing aliens then snapping them on big screen. Even got surly teen ('Meh') beaming in front of TARDIS. Bought a copy of EM Forster's The Machine Stops as all previous volumes nicked by lendees. An ace read. Later got it signed by Prof Brian Cos but will hand back dg's blog now...

Er Prof Brian Cox. Lettuce get that right.

So much happening and this will be the first June in 4 years I'm not there to do any of it *sob*

I noticed on another list of events that not only do we have Trooping the Colour and a Naked Bike Ride on Saturday but there is a "Slut Walk". It struck me as a slightly odd combination of events taking place in Central London over a Saturday in June ;-)

Thanks for the info. Being a nice day, I went up to Hyde Park. Not all of the cyclists were on their own bikes; quite a few (mostly older men) had hired Boris Bikes for the day.
Quote of the day has got to go to the spectator heard saying: "Yeuuuwww! I'm never going to rent one of those bikes again!"

Thanks for reminding me about Eel Pie Island - I also made a few purchases and took some photos. Unfortunately there was Morris dancing. Apart from that, I could see myself living the life there ...
