I believe the White Post Lane entrance was closed to the workforce yesterday, with directions being posted to the Greenway gate - though none of my colleagues trusted that it would actually be open, so didn't try.
An excellent post Dg,and very interesting to me as its so local to where I am living, I do think the newly painted contribution by the "Bread Colective" is really very beautiful and its great to see some real effort going into improving the area instead of the pathetic mindless cretins who just spray tags all over other people's property.
"it's a stark reminder of how many people are going to be out of a job in two months time" ... and that DG will have to find a new topic with which to entertain us.
In the early 70s I cycled along this route regularly on my way to college at Three Mills. This was before the motorway was there so the Bow roundabout was much safer. The journey along White Post Lane and Carpenters Rd was memorable because of smells, it was a light industrial area, the Clarnico factory and one that made meat pies produced pleasant aromas, some of the other places in the area were less pleasant.
I wonder how long it will be, once the Olympics have gone (of course), before the large BOW steel letters in the middle of the roundabout (A11/A12)are 'removed' by illegal means to sell on for scrap?
