Pity about the wrap, I think the sponsored one looked nicer. It was fuller and colourful.
I should be attending an event inside the Olympic park in just over a week so looking forward to seeing inside.
Ah ha not at all surprised today's post was about Pudding Mill Lane. Almost in anticipation of this I made a brief call there late last night for one last look at the stadium from the platform, in what is becoming a successful last-minute series - last night of View Tube, last day of Towpath, last night of Pudding Mill Lane. Can't think what's next to do last of.

As the DLR trains are automatic I wonder what will happen now the station is closed - will the trains pause briefly or will they just glide through?
As I drove down the M11 yesterday afternoon, the electronic signs had changed from their (since February) message about planning one's route to avoid Olympic delays to, "Avoid driving in London from 14th July." So not just public transport being rather premature.

You'll have those squaddies on a charge with that picture...
I have found an amusing new way to pass the time since the squaddies took up their position on the top of the water tower at Bow Quarter, I now stand on my roof terrace with my binoculars in hand looking at them, and they stand with their binoculars in hand looking back at me, it reminds me of my many visits to Berlin in the days when the wall was still in place.
@Stephen - they'll pause at PML in order to maintain the existing timetable; AIUI this is standard operating procedure.
For what it's worth, I've found the squaddies to be far more cheerful and efficient than the G4S people on the security checkpoints on the way in to the park. Although one of my colleagues had a problem with a soldier declaring his jar of Marmite as 'liquid', and as it was over 100ml, verboten.
Was Talking to the squaddies at Old Ford Military Camp yesterday and they seemed to have little interest in being part of The Games at all. The main entertainment consisted of ordering 100 chicken Nuggets and setting a new squaddie record in the proccess !.
...well they're only half being premature, Witchy, with the road signs. They've already started fecking up the traffic light timings on roads anywhere near Olympic lane routes. Thus, this is one warning that might actually be worth heeding!

Obviously, the question remains as to why they'eve already changed the light timings.....
good for you fish.... sounds like fun !
I assume when Pudding Mill Lane re-opens it'll be the same one; they won't have had time to build the replacement relocated one while the Olympics are on! So there'll continue to be disruption there later on.
@John I agree that the wrap they've put on the stadium looks far less interesting than the colourful one in all the rendered views of the stadium at games time.

As it currently stands, I think the stadium actually looked a lot better without the wrap, as you could then see how "minimalist" it is, with loads of empty space between the supports on the outside and the underside of the seating bowl, which looked really cool.

If they need to have a wrap on it for more than decorative reasons (like keeping out wind or something) then it would have looked more striking had they just done the whole thing in solid magenta, to stick with all the other 2012 branding.
