Not sure it’s scientifically the right one, but it’s the choice I’d have made if the decision were mine.
Agree with Jim on the choice; on the science I’d argue that the Covid is the only thing worth thinking about in medical terms argument has taken precedence for too long.
Reasonable steps have been taken, for those who haven't been vaccinated yet, it's now a 'you problem' rather than an 'us problem', even my QAnon conspiracy friend has been vaccinated.

Continuing to hide under the bed is untenable, and I notice that people are now far more casual/ignore the guidelines than before.

There's also all the damage from delayed treatments, disrupted education and business losses.
A blanket requirement to wear masks on public transport was misguided IMO. As Boris said, on a crowded tube train or bus at peak time - Yes. But in an empty off peak train with open windows open (yes there are still some of those about), or a rural bus, where you are the only passenger - clearly No.
The most vulnerable people have been vaccinated, most people have had at least one dose.

Delta is less deadly, more contagious, following the course of many endemic diseases.

When it comes to masks, I believe masking healthy people is pointless, but there might be a benefit if people who have symptoms yet go out continue to wear them (though they really should be staying at home!)

Lockdowns are a blunt tool and should only be used in the most extreme cases. We had pandemic plans which were ignored after the whole panic. A lockdown is not something that should be normalised in the future.

Many in this nation have been turned into hypochondriacs.

Rip the plaster off now, it’s less painful this way.
Yes. Rip the plaster off.
This should have happened a year ago. Lockdown may have been useful last March but it has achieved little since.
What Jim said.
Yes. This should have been done a long time ago and it's genuinely scary just how terrified people have been made of this disease, and just how thoroughly so many of them seem vastly to overestimate its fatality rate - to which we can now add the wildly exaggerated claims of 'long Covid'
With death rates a fraction of what they once were, its a no-brainer
It'll happen anyway because many people, me included, will simply start making their own decisions.

So the gov has no choice really, if they try to continue restrictions and many people ignore them, the gov loses credibility.
I’m happy about the restrictions easing, wearing masks at work has been hell for communication, and also I’ve been cautious and will still be cautious about Covid. If people claim to be truly vulnerable, then they should take extra precautions themselves without the government telling them to.
If it's good enough for Chris Whitty, it's good enough for me.
We saw last summer that masks + social distancing + sanitiser only has a small effect, only complete lockdown was effective at stopping the spread. We had numbers down to almost nothing and it all came back despite the measures.

Hopefully now vaccines will provide what SD & masks didnt.

The two options ahead are trust the vaccine or lockdown forever. I dont want to lockdown forever.
Completely agree with doing away with all restrictions and never to return. I’ve had quite enough of enforced control and there would be a hostile reaction if reimposed and be impossible to police. One thing that should be banished immediately is the wretchedly flawed Track & Trace system which only serves to confuse. It beggars belief that so much money has been wasted on the woefully inept Serco to administer it.
It's either now, or delayed indefinitely; with ongoing limitation on life, and consequential health issues, and according to the scientists deferred rather than eradicated serious cases and deaths. Going now puts pressure on people to look out for themselves and hopefully get vaccinated, plus more infections in the less vulnerable raises herd immunity and thereby corporate resistance.
