Nice to see comments back. Thanks. I also had a walk around the edge of the Olympic Park What struck me was how quiet everything is after 7 years of construction activity and 3 months of very frenetic activity. Only a few G4S people around Drapers Field and a solitary security guard at the former Victoria Gate. It was fun to see the remains of the hospitality follies around the river - formans - water chariots and the fringe.
welcome back DG i missed my morning fix yesterday. However, it just goes to show on IE8 your blog never loaded either here or at home but Chrome at home after a little struggle did at least load the text!
The crossing under the greenway bridge has closed? That's disappointing. It's a right pain if you're on a bike around there.
I've loved these posts. Thank you. Going to be doing that walk soon
What is this round thing here?

those on foot aren't officially allowed through because there's a brief "dangerous" section past a narrow gateway
The Hostile Vehicle Mitigation measures need to be removed.

the official diversion starts from a painted silhouette further down the road
Actually this has, to date, always been the pedestrian route so can’t be a “diversion”.

Stratford International station
About 25 years ago, Newham Council wanted this station to be the London terminal for the Channel Tunnel Rail Link. It was envisaged that the Stratford Railway Land would be a Eurocity of office blocks and car parks. I think that on balance, Westfield and the Olympic Village is a better deal.

row upon row of empty white tents await the call for someone to come and take them down
I think some are staying for LLDC use when the bulk of the workforce for the legacy transformation arrives.

Warton Road's security barrier has gone
The road will soon be readopted by LB Newham.

The Greenway footbridge remains
...until 1st weekend in December.

the pedestrian crossing beneath has been blocked off in case it disturbs traffic too much
No, it’s now awaiting to be transformed into a staggered crossing – the straight across crossing was only for Games-time.
Which Greenway bridge will be removed? Surely not the one over Stratford High St?!
I bought one of the credit card sized metal fish and chip forks, although only when the Hyde Park shop reduced them and then sold everything off half price!
Dan - yes, the Greenway bridge over High Street Stratford will go start of December. So will 1/2 the pedestrian bridge over Ruckholt Road - the one with the pier in the central reservation.
Is the Stadium wrap already coming off?

...and the large magenta signs and structures at the Stratford Gate have been taken down.
