Well played, getting kicked out of a museum! Have to say I haven't been to the Horniman since I was very small, so you have put it back onto my to-do list, now you have reminded me it's now but a short skip to Forest Hill from here. And have never got round to the Geffrye, will certainly go there before long.
(Note, think there's a typo on the London Hospital opening hours - unless it really is nocturnal!)

At least they're trying.
Only Londoners think a mile is a long way. Anywhere else and you're lucky to be within a mile of anything.

Regarding Horminan Museum: SE Londoner may be correct in that from there to Forest Hill station is "but a short skip" but it is a long walk up a steep hill to get there from the station (or a short bus ride). If Lordship Lane station was still open then that would be really close to that. The nature reserve next door is on the old trackbed of the abandoned line.

You can't tell us you were kicked out of a museum and not tell us why.

He did, Ileen. Click the orange "I've been" link :)

I've only been to the Geffrye Museum out of that list, and agree, it's a delight. Last time, we sat in the cafe for lunch listening to them building the station!

The video for Traffic's wonderful Paper Sun was filmed in the Horniman.

According to the leaflet issued to mark the full opening of this stretch of line, visitors for the Geffrye Museum should alight at Haggerston. So very wrong.

I recently visited the Museum of Croydon and was surprised to find it was very different and interesting. Well worth a visit if you are in the vicinity.
