Nice one DG.

Spot on DG, my household falls within the 20-28 slot nowadays, done all my shopping in an hour or so on Christmas Eve came home and haven't left the house since, bloated, boozed and extremely content, merry Christmas and thanks for another year of quality guff.

I don't fall into any of the categories as I treat Christmas Day as any other day, I like to hear and sing the Christmas songs but that's about all.
This year I spent most of Christmas Day helping install some security cameras in a cafe. Good day to do it while place was closed.
Where I live in West London there is a cinema nearby which is always open on Christmas Day so friends and I sometimes go there early evening.
Pity that there are no buses or tube trains running in the UK on Christmas Day.
I am not anti Christmas Day and
if I had young children at home it would be different. For them at a young age waiting for Santa it is a magical time of year.
I did dress up as Santa a few weeks ago and stood in a High Street ringing my bell and shouting Ho Ho Ho, it was to help raise money for a charity. I also went to the Mayor of London's Carol Service at Southwark cathedral.
Christmas is mainly a lot of Hype in the weeks leading up to it, and a chance to for shops to make some money. From the Biblical point of view Christ was not born in December.
Bah Humbug and all that, hope you all enjoyed yours!

I'm with John on most of his comments, although I don't treat Christmas Day as "any other day", mainly becuase I ignore whichever day it falls on, so it's not 'Sunday' but 'Christmas Day' (ditto Boxing Day). I drove to some friends in Reading, and I felt completely relaxed - plenty of time, most people on the roads driving carefully, people out strolling in the countryside.... nice festive dinner, catching up with events of the past year, moderate amount of alcohol, telly, games, quiet drive home.... a wonderful, unique day in the year in our hectic lives. Boxing day, back to normal - the hype of the sales, stabbings, shootings etc., grim reality....

sounds like everyone in your family is still married to the parents of their children ... no negotiation about who gets the kids this year, step kids throwing the cycle off...

yes,my parents split up,each would have been offended if I chose to go to the other, so for many years I had Xmas Day at my home for friends in similar circumstances with NO small children.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year, DG.

Xmas day - absolutely refuse to turn computer on. Boxing day, try hard not to turn computer on. It's past midnight - I'll just update the anti-virus software on rarely used portable...ho ho ho. Back to normal then!

I must say I missed the years, that there were no small children in the family, Christmas missed something. Since the birth of my grandchildren all that has changed, just watching their reactions to all the festivities is so wonderful.

With 5 kids aged 10-18 (tomorrow!) we fall into two categories, and you were spot on!
Though the early morning wake-up on Christmas Day has now been replaced by late nights on Christmas Eve, waiting for them to go to bed so FC can come!
