I'm looking forward to visiting - I've driven past a couple of times recently and noted developments.

But, what a shame about the mature trees from the front that they've desecrated in the process.
ooh thanks DG, I had indeed missed this!
I did wonder when you would visit. You could have popped in for a cup of tea.

@ Blue Witch - I'm one of the local cynics who has watched the park redevelopment and wondered whether the end result will ever be worth the money. At the start I feared that all the mature trees would be removed but thankfully most survived.
The guardian of the Perry room did suggest a correlation between some products and the 7 ages in which would be used. I also noted a Waltham Forest connection with a certain brand of condom which used to be manufactured in the borough before production was shipped out to the far east...
It really is brilliant, you can spend a long time pondering it. notice also the playful W-anchor mark on the red amphora in my fuzzy photo.(Grayson was lower down the school when I left, but have no recollection of him..) Realy worth a visit. AAA
Ah, a timely reminder. I am so pleased this is back as it was a regular haunt of mine when I lived closer. Will make the effort to go back pronto!
And I didn't even know it existed. Shame! Cheers DG.
Anyone interested in authentic Morris interiors should skip quickly from the rather limited presentations in Kelmscott House in Hammersmith to the Emery Walker house at 7 Hammersmith Terrace, a few minutes walk downstream. It has original Morris & Co wallpaper and furniture, including pieces by Rosetti and Philip Webb, all "as lived in" by Emery Walker, a less well-known associate of Morris - for visiting details (booking is necessary) see www.emerywalker.org.uk
Had literally just arranged to go there with friends on Saturday morning before reading this! Looking forward to it even more now.
