Looks like the legacy people are doing the minimum so that that they can say that a part of the Olympic Park was open on the anniversary. We need to be patient.
I've cycled through the park several times now - the north-south route regains its pre-games name of Waterden Road - and nobody has tried to stop me. A man in a QEOP security pick-up truck did call after me once, though, but that was it. As one of the comments on Twitter points out, the black on yellow signs probably aren't legally enforceable.

There aren't any pavements yet, so I don't think I'd attempt it on foot, and at the north side you have to negotiate the killer junction on the Eastway, so do approach with care.

Incidentally, many of the park's broad footbridges have been sliced in half, as I think was always the plan for legacy. (Or do I mean sustainability?) What I've seen of the paths by the riverside does look lovely though.
I'm glad I went to Wembley to see Bruce Springsteen instead of going to the Olympic Park. I had mistakenly thought he would be playing in the Olympic Stadium.
I presume the athletics at the end of July will be in the stadium or are they going to be running on the grass around the Park Live screen?
Pedantry: don't you mean "but the bit where BA let you sit and watch the TV"? rather than 'BT'?
No offence to DG, and I know it's a free blog and I don't have to read it, but does anyone else find the post-Olympic posts a bit boring?
I find the post-Olympic blogs just as interesting as the pre-Olympic blogs. Possibly more so, as during the run-up to the Olympics there was lots of news elsewhere about the Olympic park, now it is past history there are fewer media reports, only dg, the London local news on TV and some other sources of information.
Will be nice when the whole park reopens. Glad they have kept the magenta signs.
To correct Martin - there is no right of way along the new Waterden Road for anyone, let alone cyclists or pedestrians until it is adopted or offered as a right of way. The former road network through the OP was legally extingished and the new Waterden Road is not on the alignment of the former road in any event.
xmb53: as a Scot, the concept of 'right of way' is a bit of a vague concept to me anyway. Does that mean that the landowners could say I was trespassing if I was in anything other than a motor vehicle?

Do you know when the road is due to be formally adopted? It'll make my trip to work a lot simpler when it is!
To John

When this blog goes subscription-only, rest assured I'll offer a post-Olympic opt-out option at a discount.

Until then, please continue to expect that some of the posts will be a bit boring.
Trust DG to provide a concise and apt response to John's earlier comment; I’m still sniggering and nearly spluttered coffee all over my keyboard whilst I read it!
The post-Olympic blogposts of Park developments are amongst the many reasons I 'tune in' daily - and are probably my favourite feature. Please keep 'em coming.
Martin: No idea when the road will be handed over - it will fall partly in Hackney, partly in Tower Hamlets and partly in Newham, so there are possibly three Boroughs all needed to be involved as well as the likely need to go through the stage 3 road safety audit process and agree the remedial action close out as well as defects of workmanship and materials with each Borough. Hopefully, one borough will be "lead" for all the others, including making the traffic regulation orders for the permanent speed limit.
I am interested in the post olympic legacy - keep the posts coming. Thanks
I saw in the Standard that the windows are being installed in the reduced swimming pool.

Don't think any part of the new Waterden road goes through Tower Hamlets. It's only 2 boroughs, south part is in Newham and as soon as it crosses the river near the Copperbox the north part is in Hackney.
