Diamond, why do some of your images, like Hand Car wash below, not have a link to another place, but the image here, and most others, do? I don't get it. dg writes: It depends on whether or not the photograph exists in "another place" (usually Flickr). |

Intrigued by this one. A few years ago a second-hand furniture shop in (I think) Clapham was sued by Harrods because for calling itself H. A. Rods and using the same green/gold colour scheme. Needless to say the big boys won. In an interview afterwards the shop owner was aksed what he would change the shop's name to. He replied "Well, we do sell fridges...". I wonder if it's the same guy? |

Many years ago a small NZ retail firm in a small NZ town was threatened with legal action by Harrod's. The name was genuinely Harrop's and they had used the green/gold colour scheme. |

Yeah, some folk just aren't flattered by imitation, even if it doesn't result in confusion. If my memory serves me correctly, the NZ Harrods was a down market pool hall frequented by patched gang members? The fact that they sold pies would be the only thing they wouold have in common with Harrods Food Hall... |
