I came here, many moons ago, after doing a search for 'Oranges and lemons' because I wanted to find out where the real churches were. I had already been visiting London daily Photo for a while, but never clicked on any links from there.

Anyway, congrats on your milestone!

Your last two sentences should be from your readers
.."Hello and thanks to .... you. And here's to many more..."
Well done, your blog has been my first read of the day for many years.
Perhaps next year, assuming you write abut East London during the Olympics lots of new readers will get to you via Twitter and Facebook links.

Well done DG on reaching another well deserved milestone. Keep up the good work!

What surprises me most is that random acts of reality is in second place as Brian wound up his (excellent) blog nearly a year ago. I assume that the data covers all of the time you have been running your blog rather than current visitors.

Well done DG.
I first visited in 2008, I cannot remember which blog linked to you, but I'm very glad that they did.

Many congratulations DG. You've been my first port of call each morning since 2008 and, for me, the Internet just wouldn't be the same without you...

Congratulations! I'm never entirely sure of my actual visit count, as all my counters say different things. I'm pretty sure I went over 2m at some stage this year.

On Friday, I finally caved in and updated my blog template for the first time in nine years (simply so I can add/delete features more easily). I may have to go and sit down for a bit as a result.

That last comment seemed to be all about me. I'd just like to add that DG has been one of my favourite blogs for as long as I've been writing, and is always worth a read.

You are a well established part of my morning routine: first cup of tea and click on your site in my favourites list. Thanks for the all the great reading material, please don't stop.

Been a daily reader since 2004 and your blog remains a strong link back to London for me. Congratulations and keep up the good work!

what everyone else said. Longtime reader, first read of the day, never disappoints, keep up the good work & congrats!

I'm not a breakfast reader, but that's only because I'm so disorganised and have such an evening-biased circadian rhythm. If I could read it at the same time every day, I would. Keep it up.

I'm starting to feel like a positive dinosaur for sticking to blogging rather than getting embroiled in the latest media, but it suits me; it is and always has been primarily a form of publishing, rather than a conversation or correspondence. And, returning to the origins of the word 'blog', it is for me also a record that I can return to and remind myself of things done and achieved.

I'm a regular reader from the Leicester area, using Talk Talk. I read your blog yesterday, although I don't remember when exactly but I would really like to think that it was me who was your 2.5 millionth visitor. I can't remember when or why I started reading your blog, but I do know that I've read every post, because when I first found you I worked my way through all your archives. I use your blog as my tourist guide to London whenever I visit. Thank you for giving me something to look forward to reading every day - my favourite is the jam jar visits, and you even manage to make buses a bit interesting!
Helen

I bet it was you, Helen, because I don't get many regular readers from the Leicester area. Congratulations, and your certificate's in the post...

Ah, congrtulations. But I'd sooner not have to sit next to Faceache if it's all the same to you ;)

Damn, I've finally fallen off the list!

(...)I use your blog as my tourist guide to London whenever I visit. Thank you for giving me something to look forward to reading every day (...).

I do too. Thank you for brightening up my day with your posts.

I like milestones, when they're not my own!
Congratulations, and long may you continue to grow.

Many congrats on this new milestone, DG.

You, and Daryl - who I only rediscovered yesterday - were my initial inspirations some eight years ago, and I remain extremely grateful for your online presence.

I look forward to the next zillion.

What a great milestone to reach. Congrats.

Predominantly an RSS-er, but increasingly making sure I click through so I can read comments and enjoy the site as it is meant to be.

A regular reader for many years now, my favourite blog bar none - have a great Christmas DG.

Congrats DG!
