Bentley Priory Museum , Stanmore tells the fascinating story of the beautiful Grade II* listed country house, focusing on its role as Headquarters Fighter Command during the Battle of Britain.

dg writes: That's in London, as are...

Regarding yesterday’s posting, Biggin Hill Memorial Museum, a moving and interesting place to visit.. Down House home of Charles Darwin and nearer Bromley, Chislehurst Caves.
St Albans: St Albans Organ Theatre; Gorhambury House; Sopwell Nunnery; Samuel Ryder Trail (enjoystalbans.com); I'm sure there's other 'stuff' as well.
A couple more:
Frogmore Paper Trail - Your blog!
Hertford Museum - Small, but you've listed smaller.

There is so much more to Berkhamsted than the castle you simply wrote off. The canalside is excellent, with lots of description boards about this once important inland port. a 2-3 mile walk north on the tow path brings you into the impressive Tring cutting.
The high street is a delight, a nice country town (despite the busy main road). The Home & Colonial Store has a great tea room/cafe on the top floor.
The old school buildings and central parish church are worth a visit, surrounded by old buildings on the way down into the valley.
Then there is the castle, yes not much now but extremely important in the past.
Just 4 stops north on the train from where I live in Wembley.

All worth much more than just the "Harmless" you wrote. Please upgrade Berkhamsted to at least "Mostly Harmless"
I could write 1000 words about Berkhamsted, and one day will. Today is not that day.
At Hatfield House there is also now the separately ticketed Hatfield Park Farm

Mill Green Museum is generally a lot friendlier than when you previously visited!
The Hatfield Aerodrome Heritage Trail is pretty good. You did it in July 2016 which was fortuitous because I spent a night in Hatfield a few days later and would probably have missed it otherwise, though encountering the art deco gatehouse on the way to the Travelodge was quite a big clue. One of those "Wow, what's that doing there? Must investigate." moments. I then spotted that I had just crossed Comet Way and made the link.
Ford End Watermill in Ivinghoe - you blogged about it last year, definitely deserves a mention. Plus, come by again next time it's open, on May 27th; I'll be milling!

dg writes: Alas, 16 miles from London.
The National Speedway Museum is also at Paradise Wildlife Park. While motorsport isn't something this blog usually features, as musuems are, I thought I should (belatedly) mention it here.
