It always is. All my adult life the tories have snuck in against the interests of the country. I'd love it to be different, but have lost faith that's the kind of country we live in.

Truss will play the populist card, which in turn will go down well with a lot of voters. I can't see anything other than this realistically happening, we could have 17 years of Tory rule.

I think their majority will be further reduced, depending on how much worse things get, but given the current mood of voter apathy combined with media frenzy, I fear the un-flushable turds will once again rise to the surface!

Until it is made impossible to gain a parliamentary majority with c40% of the popular vote this shower will always have a good chance of getting the right people to vote for them even when a clear majority of the country are against them.
