If Zac Goldsmith is elected I suspect he will contrinue with cycle-friendly policies with the full backing of the Evening Standard. If Labour's Christian Wolmer - who has pushed cycling prominently in his campaign - is elected I wonder if the Standard will be as pro-cycling as it has been under Boris.
Well my MP hasn't got a hope! I didn't even know he was standing, and I like to keep an ear open as to what's happening locally!
Wolmar may know his railways inside-out, but not his transport. London buses carry 2.4 billion passengers a year (nearly double the number carried by the tube). Yet he has precious little to say about buses other than removing them from Oxford Street, and the one-hour bus ticket (also promised by other candidates).
Anyone else finding that the new Firefox 40.0 has broken DG's Comments function?

That might explain the suspiciously low number of comments.
Why would anyone who is not a party member waste their money registering to vote in any of these party elections? If you're sufficiently committed to a party and its policies then become a member but this "pseudo democracy" is really a money raising exercise in disguise. None of the candidates for either of the main parties is particularly interesting nor do any of them strike me as being "competent".
Damn, I judged that wrong :)
