I received my first Olympic Park venue ticket in the post about an hour ago, its only for a test event in the Basketball Arena but in exactly forty days at about 13:30 I shall be taking my seat at the London International Basketball Invitational, when further test event tickets are released I shall try to get one for the swimming, lets hope my application for that does not sink without trace!

I was thinking about buying Volleyball tickets yesterday, and there were tickets available at the time...except they clashed with the all day tennis ticket I had!

Only ticket my mate received was for football at Old Trafford.

Not interested in it any more.... :-( (much cutting nose off to spite face I'm afraid)

I think technically they know the capacity of the venues, however, a certain amount of space is taken out for media desks and they don't know how much that is going to be yet. Takes up way more space than you'd realise - almost a whole side of the seating at the Velodrome for example. And I imagine that some of the tickets held back for corporates will be released too, to create a good news story. Ooh, I do love a good bit of British cynicism. It might be a total farce as far as the public are concerned, but if you are London 2012, you must be rubbing your hands in glee. Tickets pretty much sold out making it the fastest selling Olympic tickets in history. Job done as far as they are concerned!

DG, could you give us as much notice as you can about WHEN in December these are actually going on sale? I missed the first round date, and so haven't been eligible, up 'til now, but would like to have a chance if there's one in December. Thanks!
