The round holes on the cubes are actually functional in that they are to do with natural air-conditioning. In a shooting venue you don't want a breeze -- the holes help prevent this.
I've no idea how.
The cubes are going to be shipped up to Edinburgh for the Commonwealth Games (in 2 years time??).
The Circular Way photograph is certainly amusing. I assume it will shortly gain the additional tag of '2012favourites'?
