Oh my God, I remember building that signal box for my train set. |
Wasnt it there that Geoff Hamilton used to live and garden? |
You didn't get to to Rutland Water? Pity. But then again, a nice day (like today) is required. Yesterday was probably a bit grim. |
Nice photos. Did you spot the micro brewery? The Grainstore Brewery is by the station situated in a former grain store, pretty good beers as well! |
Debster - spot on. More tomorrow! Jag - oh but I did get there. More tomorrow! And I understand it snowed yesterday in London. Nothing nasty like that in Rutland |
Brought up in the East Midlands, I was always curious about The County That Disappeared. I remember it being "reinstated" in 1997; I think it was on 1 April, because I didn't believe the news story at first. More recently, my family history research has turned up at least one ancestor from Empingham. |
Hmmmmmmmm visit the photos and prove him wrong, or don't visit and let him bask in the glory of being right? What a decision to have to make after a long weekend |
And who could forget Rutland Weekend Television? http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/rutl...ion/ index.shtml |
Ten miles? Did you walk around it twice? |
Does that mean I have caught up and can come off the naughty step now? Barnsdale IIRC. And his cat was called Dennis. We always used to look out for Dennis. |
Simon, whatever we do, I think DG wins. |
Pedantically, the Rutles record was "I must be in love". ("I feel good, I feel bad, I feel happy, I feel sad, I must be in love". The first times that I heard it, I thought it was the Beatles! |
Surely the Unitary authority is as good as anything? Its too small for districts anyway! |
I read Rutland has a gay MP, even though he's a Tory duckie. |
