And for another good walk there's a path all the way along the river from Deptford to the borough boundary with Bexley, except for a brief inland diversion just downriver of the barrier. It's a great cycle route too, diverted inside the grounds of the Old Royal Naval College to avoid running down visitors along the riverside path.

- Highcombe House, A grade 2 listed Regency Villa dating from around 1820. It was the home of the extrodinary William Congrieve junior, and pioneering railway civil engineer William Barlow.

- Maryon Park adn Maryon Wilson Park; both parks focus on nature conservation.
