Not been there for a while but a visit to the Hampstead Scientific Soc's Observatory near WhiteStone Pond at the edge of the Heath makes for an interesting evening if the skies are clear

You missed that Hampstead is a very pretty village, once you get off the High Street, well worth a wander around in its own right.
