The Millennium centre at Eastbrook End park is worth a look in Dagenham. Old gravel extraction area turned into a country park. Events there in the summer months.

A lot of the open spaces in Barking & Dagenham, and particularly Havering, are well worth a visit, although they don't cluster particularly well for a day out. |

I have to echo David's comments, Eastbrook End Country Park is definitely worth a visit in it's own right.

There's also the ruins of Barking Abbey and the old Curfew Tower.
It's been well over a decade since I last visited those, so can't comment on how suitable they are for inclusion in a Dagenham day trip. |
