is the Museum of London's Docklands outpost too inner to deserve a mention? (The small Sainsbury's museum within is also worth a look.)
The Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green is very popular with my grandchildren (and their parents) when they visit. It does two jobs: plenty of stuff for the children (sandpit, small Punch and Judy booth, various games) and their parents and grandparents (lots of toys from the past such as the chunky black-and-white Binatone that was my children's first video game).
Martin - I can count that as Outer, so I've added it, thanks.
Peter - It's a lovely museum, but alas too Inner for this list.
