Beverly Hills without the third E.

A long & informative post and there's only one comment. You should really do more posts on train timetables.

(Seriously, I enjoy these local travel pieces; generally your best writing.)
Justice for Molesey, Oxshott and Cobham !

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elmbridge

From East to West:

Long Ditton
Thames Ditton
Hinchley Wood
Claygate
Weston Green
Molesey (East Molesey)
Esher including West End
Oxshott
Hersham including Burwood Park
Molesey (West Molesey)
Walton on Thames including Fieldcommon and Ashley Park
Cobham including Fairmile and the hamlets of Hatchford and Downside
Stoke D'Abernon
Weybridge including St George's Hill
I passed that way today.
There's also Painshill Park, near Cobham (as mentioned in Mike D's link), which also has ornate parkland and gardens.
You stopped for tea? That must be a first.
Huh ?

DG stopped for tea at severndroog castle for example
"And what of the tearoom? It's compact and cakey, with a menu ranging from frothy drinks to jammy toast. I plumped for tea and a panini, the latter properly baked and served up with coleslaw on a wooden platter. "

And National Trust and other gardens (like Painshill Park and Wisley RHS) are often good places to try.

National Trust places like Claremont which have the tearoom outside the paid area are a real resource.
I think you will find that Painshill Park was restored and is managed by a charitable trust, not the council. I very much enjoyed this piece.
Do go to The Homewood. It's ace.
Next time you'll have to visit neighbouring Hersham. If any other place of similar size has produced singers as different as Julie Andrews and JImmy Pursey, I'd be surprised.
