Dunno about WW1 ... It reminds me more of this

Oh that is a pain. I would have gone down there after work last week if I had known about it. Thanks for the report.
I thought it was breathtaking, much more powerful than I'd anticipated. Wonder why such a short visit?
Ooh ooh ooh.......I might have been somewhere at the same time as DG! About 2115-2130 last night.

Very impressive for something so 'simple'. And yes I can see it from my road in Southgate!
I was in Paris 2008 when this light show was there.
Aargh!! Why do you always tell us about these things as they're about to end!!
Thanks dg , I thought it was to do with ww1.
Can see it from Badgers mount , that's the other side of Orpington.
dg, what a gift you have for words! Thank you for sharing it with us.
13) Anyone with an interest in Lepidoptera can look up and be amazed by the number of larger moths attracted to the beams and spiralling around in the heat of the lights.
(or look down into the lights themselves to count the ones that unfortunately got a bit too close.)

Very pleased I went (I went last night, too): as good a tribute as any to the tragedy that was WW1
Stood on the porch to contemplate the beam one last time last night... along with the full moon and a complement of stars, it was quite the light show. Funny how it seemed to taper out directly above the house.
