This box is just for people who live on an A road.
All other comments at the foot of today's post, thanks.

If you used to live on an A road, other box please.

I technically live on the A35
I live on the A2212 (not far from where DG visited a few months ago so suspect I may be the furthest numerically away from DG and his A11
whilst my address is a different road round the back that we have no direct access to, my front door is on the A4 in Maidenhead, and the windows in the flat all face the A4, so in a practical sense I live in the A4

dg writes: If your postal address isn't the A4, I'm going to claim that I still beat you anyway.
I live on the A4144, a slightly peculiar A road which never leaves urban Oxford.
I live on the A3209, so definitely not in the running for beating you.
I live up the road from you, though by then it's the A118.
The other side of London, A244, looks like you are still winning.
former A1 (but it has another name locally)
I live on an A road. It is much higher a number than yours, DG, so again you are safe.
A105, though only by virtue of one door to the megalith structure I live in opening out onto it. Postal address refers to a side street.
Moving homes very shortly, but I will be living on the A131.
I did not think I live on an A road, but Google Maps and Wikipædia assure me that I am on the A400, so completely out of the running, but more central than most.
The Paragon in Bath - so right on the A4.
I live not too far from you on the A13, so close but not quite. The car with the modified exhaust that sounds like it's constantly exploding could do with being taken off the road.
CW looks like our winner at the moment.
A1203 but the address says otherwise and that's all I can say without giving my location away.
A370.

You might think one advantage of living on such a main road is having plenty of buses, but this is not London, so I don't get a single bus service down here at all.
A1134--used to have the extra-heavy-duty double-glazing to prove it!
Another A road resident, A205 is still a higher number than you though.
I can't beat A11, but I live on the A22 (outside London, inside the M25). At other times in my life I have also lived on the A661, A67 and A218.
The A503, I’ve well lost this game :D
My address is on the A6, so I'm close to the top of the list, but no actual cigar.
A59. You beat me hands down!
I live on an old A road that got downgraded and would have beaten A11. Damn.
I would not be at all surprised if I were not the only respondent to live on one of the roads that make up the A112.

I would consider it at least as much fun to wonder what the highest numbered A road any respondents live on; are there any readers who live on the A9-something-something-something?

dg writes: The UK's highest numbered A roads are the A9011, A9012 and A9013, all in Aberdeen.
I’m on the A3220. The highest London number?

dg writes: You're two thousand short.
I live on the A4000 which runs between the A406 (Acton) to the A404 (Harlesden). While I haven't won lowest or highest I might win on most A roads lived on.

I've also lived on:
A33 (Reading to Southampton)
A548 (Chester to Llanrwst)
A9 (Polmont-M9 to Scrabster)
A30* (Hounslow to Land's End)
A3057 (Southampton to Andover)

* Westbound only

While all were busy, the quietest was certainly the A9.
A1205
Not going to win with this number, but still I haven't seen anyone else on it. A501.
A23

Fortunately, my flat faces the other way
Apparently mine's the A3212, aka Cheyne Walk but known to we sea-gypsies as basically the race track leading up to the M4. Admittedly that's a while off but you try telling that to the midnight boy racers who are suddenly confronted with a corner after the embankment from Westminster or the Limehouse link tunnel...
Here's an interesting one: I live in a Barbican block facing the A1 (Aldersgate St) - vehicle access is from the A1, by which the car park is, but the postal address has no street at all, just <name of block>, Barbican, London; and pedestrian access is from the highwalk. How does that rank?
I am moving today to a flat on the A7 in Edinburgh!
Thanks everyone!

Our Barbican resident is the winner, unless that doesn't count in which case CW on the A4 in Bath takes the crown.

Late to the party I know, but A22 here too! At a guess, about 10 miles south of WitBlad.
A3807 now, but I used to live on the A1
Little bit late to the party here as well, but before leaving the UK I lived in - and am still registered to vote in (which is why I think it might count) - a flat on the A3 in Stockwell (Clapham Road).
