In London currently the epidemic R value is 0.9 (range of the C19 symptoms app estimate, 0.7-1.1). In Wales, which has stayed more tightly locked down, it's 0.4.
The difference is massive: waiting for an extra fortnight with R of 0.4 means a drop to 5% of the case count. With R of 0.9, it's still at 75%.
If we can get the number of cases in London down to the tens per day, rather than the hundreds as now, there is some hope for track-and-trace letting us open up properly. Be like Wales for two weeks!

Sack Cummings. Even if there is an interpretation of what he did which gives a tortured justification, then he has required a sufficiently bizarre interpretation which is so difficult to communicate as to be impossible to the masses who have not seen fit to realise the subtleties of the situation.
I veered from "leave things alone" to "lock back up", but I might be prepared to go "lock back up" for big cities like the one I live in, and "leave as is" in better-behaved parts of the UK.

I want to see my parents, but I'd rather have nobody die. Lockdown was half-assed at best, rules were never entirely clear (as the bevy of government ministers who broke the rules affirms). We have more deaths daily than most EU countries did when they even considered loosening restrictions.
