Thanks D.G.for your heavenly travelogue. I am stuck indoors for 6 weeks with a foot in plaster, so your wanderings give me much needed respite.

I'll second that... even though I don't have a foot in plaster, I have to admit that I enjoy traveling through these great links almost MORE than the actual experience.

Today I ventured out to our local Puget Sound islands and I have to say by the time I had driven the 100 miles there and back and fought the snarling gridlock traffic back into the metropolis, I was almost sorry I went.

Not exactly the best attitude for an explorer... but Lewis & Clark didn't have to put up with gridlock freeway traffic.
