You paint such a charming picture dg, I must visit soon! |
I knew I'd detected literary aspirations earlier this month |
Christmas always looks better in the movies, than in real life. |
And over in the corner, where the stain still lies The memory of October's stabbing Does he still walk past there? The little old lady, who slipped in the wet Her wrist must be out of plaster All the better for pulling crackers. A broken bottle on the floor reminds me of violence A staggering drunk, bleeding from his head He tried to hit me The crazy man, waving his arms in the morning frost Hoping he doesn't come to talk to me As I sit eating my McMuffin Apologies - but where you see shops, I see patient 'incidents'. Hmmm perhaps a topic for my own blog. As always DG an excellent and thoughtful post. |
Kinda depressing huh? Well, I'm going to be focusing on the real meaning of Christmas. No shop-a-thon for me. |
today on living tv were several eastenders xmas specials. marvelous. twas lovely to see the 'curious' barrow boy what was shagging colin the euro mp. |
by the way, take the 'christ' out of christmas and what you're left with is a much gayer version of halloween. |
The 'real meaning of christmas'!! It's whatever you want it to be. Anywhere that sells real ale near you? |
real ginger ale is all the rage in bow quarter. or is that ginger beer? i can never remember. |
God I loathe Christmas. I am staggered at the amount of junk needed to make the average home 'festive'. The waste and excess, especially by those who can least afford it, makes me sad. |
