I'm glad the Golden Hynde replica is still there.... it always seems a bit lost squeezed in between the various waterside pubs.

Ooh, Horace Andy. One of the reggae greats. Saw him live about five years ago in a small sweaty club - fantastic.

I rather enjoyed Billy Bragg and Suggs too, but the Kurdish DJ (and handkerchief-clasping dancers) really took the biscuit.

Fab day out.

Marvellous photos. But oh dear, so many links, so little time...

Thank you so much for this, DG. I'm a student lucky enough to live in Shad Thames, so I walk along the South Bank every day to get to the LSE. But I'm out of London for the summer, and missing it greatly, so it was wonderful for your Flickr stream to take me back! I love the Borough Market, but can afford nothing. Your right about the dominance of Tower Bridge. We always say that you can't be lost if you can see it.

That part of the South Bank has always been one of my favourite areas in London.

I was walking the other bank of the Thames that day. The first part of the walk is posted now, I'm still in the process of writing up the second part.

I may go and explore the Southbank this weekend.
