I'd start with the tea!

...and once the tea is well out of the way, the Tax Return. In my experience Tax Returns and cups of tea don't mix...or rather, shouldn't be allowed to as the tea becomes undrinkable and the Tax Return un-returnable (and they take an age to send you a new one!).

That's one of the benefits of being single, everything stays where you last put it, just shove the items aside when you need to eat at the table.-That's what I do.

You're just showing off about the size of your dining table now, aren't you? :)

"a portrait of me drawn on some tracing paper"
"an application form for the BP Portrait Award 2010"
Is there any interesting connection between these two?

John - in my office, such practice continues nearly six years after getting married.

DG - don't bother with steaming/soaking your unfranked stamps for re-use. Doing so destroys the phosphorous dots/stripes on the surface of the stamp which are machine-read in the sorting office to validate the stamp. Your item will be delivered with one of those "penalty to pay" notices, which might cheese off the recipient. Of course, you could use them on your tax return.

Where is the Food?

I've got one of those staplers too. Still useful when necessary, after a good quarter century. (And not even half way through the box of staples!)

Sounds like you've already cleared up a bit since I was last there ;)

You've got until Jan 31st to do your tax return too.

Re the tax return...31st Jan is the deadline for submitting it online. If you're going to fill the forms in manually then I think the deadline is 31st October

I'd been wondering about stamps, as they are unmarked quite often these days. I thought it might just be that the standard stamps are glued rather than gummed so you can't get them off the paper easily - didn't know there was a hidden surface!

London needs more Mighty Wallets - give its capaciousness another chance!
