What the $^\\%& does a "Qualified Professional Life Coach" do? And do they get paid more than me? And where do I have to go to get "Qualified"? And what makes it "Professional"? And....

...Oh I think you get the idea...

I only drink bottled water because the law doesn't allow me to walk the streets swigging from an open can of Guinness, as I'd prefer.

i find the square evian bottles make great containers for cleaning paint brushes with white spirit. simply stick a sharp knife in the middle of the plastic bottle and slice it in half. the upper portion can then be used as a funnel when stealing your neighbours petrol. or for home-made enemas.

i don't even like the taste of water. actually, isn't water tasteless? i like my tap water flavoured with sugar free chemicals from Robinsons.

ooh - I think this may be the most scathing post ever..you've not been drinking nasty chemicals now have ya?

I do think 'benzine' has far more of a sinister ring to it than bromate though - those French - always such style.

Doesn't bromate do strange things to ones gonads too?

Two words.

Peckham. Spring.

What that name should have said was 'Vaughan - professional life coach as of 8.00am this morning'

Drink lots and lots of Dasani.

/professional death coach

i believe that water in the UK is better than here, but you really don't want to drink the tap water that is readily available in my neck of the woods - it.is.absolutely.vile.

Even filtered water is vile.

the tap water in the ardennes is just fine and i'll drink that, but because of the low quality of water elsewhere you will find that bottled water in belgium is really not that expensive.

but then, i presume you were referring to the UK ?

Any chemistry folks out there able to tell a non-ionic-chain guy whether the bromate might be chemically related to theobromine?

Here in the States, they add theobromine to Coke. It's mildly psychoactive and contributes to that feeling of well-being, etc.

I've looked on the web, but can't find a site that offers molecular overlays and comparisons.

The life coach called it "mainstream purified water". Sounds more like unpurified stream water to me.

Cheered me up and clarified my focus no end, that.

Quality, DG.

Rickster,

Theobromine is not related to bromate.

Theobromine is a mild stimulant, originally found in chocolate. (Hence the name - from theobroma, meaning "food of the gods", the original name of chocolate).

Theobromine is chemically similar (almost identical) to caffeine. It is less potent, due to an additional methyl group. There's a page with the structure of both chemicals, here.

Calcium Bromate has the structure Ca (BrO3)2.

drD, I think you may be thinking of (Sodium) Bromide - which was reputedly added to the tea in prisons and the armed forces, to reduce ... distractions.

DG.

Jesus you are so cruel..but it's such a witty sting... good..
a bit anti-corporate..?
I feel the same about Dasani though, I didn't know Dasani belongs to Coca-Cola....

What a stupid marketing anyway...probably they believe they are god of marketing.. so they can fool of everyone with lies - which they call 'Marketing'.

But how can you drink tap water..?

I'm really poor but I don't drink tap water. I can feel strange stoney, chemical taste... disgusting...!

I bought normally diet Coke..I agree I don't really like buying bottle still plain water...

Poor Coca cola.. anyway... this isn't their first mistake in their marketing... isn't it..?

Vanila coke is awful too...

Bottle of Tesco value sugar free lemonade 14p.

Dasani has salt added to it. You get thirstier. You drink more Dasani. Top marketing.

Eau joy!
