Now that has made me envious, I would love to see it.

Nice to hear that the flamingoes are still there, although they probably aren't the ones I saw many years ago. I hadn't realised the roof gardens were still open to the public - I must head off there before the summer finishes.

Jack actually lives in Selbourne House on Victoria Street, but I agree t is a good building to work in, even if the air conditioning is a bit on the Arctic side.

I went to the Home Office yesterday, hoping to have a look around. Like a lot of other people I didn't spot that you had to book your tour.

Still, a lovely building from the outside, and an enjoyable wander around the local area.

I've only recently found your blog, and look forward to more hidden gems of London.

Did you pop back home to make a post between each of your visits? The times and locations meant that I didn't visit any of the same places - but thanks for the recommendations. My first Open House and thoroughly enjoyed the Lloyds Building

I used to work in Romney House in Marsham Street and frequently had to take Very Important Pieces Of Paper to Very Important People in the Marsham Street Towers. And they were so cool.

You could go out on the roof in summer to sunbathe at lunchtime (no pesky health and safety then), and in the myriad basement levels you could find (amongst many other things) a gym and a cinema.

Happy days. And what was that pub round the corner called that was done out like the Starship Enterprise? Weird.

I think the pub would be the Paviours' Arms which had an original art deco interior and was used for Star Trek fans' meetings. Alas closed about two years' ago.

Neasden temple? SNAP!

It's awesome, mind. Even if I did feel a little guilty for getting in the way of the devout's prayers.
