Thanks DG. I think the geography of this whole area will feel very different when these connecting roads open up once more.

Are there any announced dates for the openings yet (apart from the park)?
I hadn't realised what a long row of tall office buildings is planned for the space between the park and Westfield. I wonder what it'll be like trying to walk near there when there's any wind.
Whilst on the "Park In Progress" tour last Saturday, ( which is not actually a tour around the park to look at progress at all, its just a visit to the orbit) we were informed by the Blue Badge Guide on our coach ( incorrectly )that the new concrete viaducts that we were driving under were the new tracks for Crossrail, when in actual fact as you pointed out DG they are the new tracks for the DLR.
Just to say I am still reading your blog whilst on holiday in sunny warm Spain.
Still the Olympic site!.
Nice dg blog about Mrs. Thatcher.
Back in UK next week.
John.
A lot of what the Blue Guides said around the Olympic Park before Games-time was either wrong or out of date.
Nobody who lived on the site previously will be able to afford them

As your final picture shows, many of the former residents of Clay Lane were students so there has got to be a chance that at least some of them have done well enough since graduation to be able to afford one of the new apartments.
I stayed at the Westfield Premier Inn over Easter. Was given a top floor room (1003) overlooking the Olympic Stadium and fantastic views from Canary Wharf, central London around to Alexandra Palace. Not bad for £39!

But, it seem all these views will go when the 'International Quarter' is built.

'Humongous' is the word!
Actually I think the humongous buildings will be a blessing if they block the views of Westfield from the Queen Elizabeth Park! When visiting the Olympics I looked around at the specimen quality architecture of the venues, and then looked out the the dog's breakfast mess of Westfield, and wanted to vomit.
